"The Hockey News has heard of rumblings - something about the Kings dangling Anze Kopitar and Dustin Brown as future bait for Malkin, who was only the best hockey player on the planet while Sidney Crosby was hurt.
Nothing against Kopitar and Brown, but niehter one of them has shown signs of becoming a modern-day Mario Lemieux."
With this said Malin is averagin 1.71 points per game without Crosby....near what Kopi and Brown do combined.
I can't see it happening. Even though Malkin is one of the few players in the league where you can talk about such a trade without milk spurting out your nose in laughter, why would the Kings move two future perennial Allstars for one? Crosby perhaps, but not Malkin. I really don't see a move like that furthering the Kings in anyway. Then, they'd have yet another hole to fill. No thanks.

If they are producing the same amount of points, Malkin himself should be cheaper than hanging on to Kopi and Brown. Don't think it would happen and Pittsburgh would be crazy to not sign Malkin or do whatever it would take to keep him.
