Ellis is a good player and all, but he's pretty much a ten a penny player...

they'res a lot of guys similar to him, so i'm suprised he got claimed...

Shame for the Wings tbh, he's been a project for Jim Nill for the last few years, undrafted and made his wy through the ECHL, AHL and the NHL this year...

but then the Wings needed to make room given the iminent signing of Darren McCarty

Ellis was a great story - worked his butt off as a career minor leaguer and plays hard every game just to stay in the NHL -

I'm guessing its Manchester depth since Moulson etc will probably be here a while
