WHAT: HEAL THE BAY BEACH CLEAN-UP EVENT
WHEN: FRIDAY, MARCH 28 AT 11:30 A.M.

The Kings Care Foundation, in partnership with Heal The Bay, will host it’s first-ever beach clean-up event on Friday, March 28 at 11:30 a.m. On that date, Kings’ players, coaches and staff will join Bailey – the Kings’ mascot – in a volunteer effort to clean-up the beach near Redondo Beach Pier (2 Pearl Street, Redondo Beach, CA, 90277).
After a brief overview and introduction from the Heal The Bay staff, all Kings’ volunteers will work together in groups of 3-5 to clean-up the beach until approximately 1 p.m. Friday afternoon. Following the beach clean-up, Kings’ volunteers will be treated to a limited edition flavor from Cold Stone Creamery – “Nim's Island Cookie Doughn't You Want Some.” Nim's Island is a story of a young girl living on a tropical island intent on protecting her environment. The film stars Abigail Breslin, Jodie Foster and Gerard Butler and is in theaters April 4.
Heal the Bay is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds, including Santa Monica Bay, safe, healthy and clean, and the organization uses research, education, community action and advocacy to pursue its mission. Beach programs from the organization reach over 15,000 volunteers annually.
“For anyone that is interested in doing their part to protect the health and safety of our coastal waters, doing a beach clean-up is the one of the easiest ways to get involved,” said Eveline Bravo, Beach Programs Manager with Heal The Bay.

The Kings Care Foundation will also be selling special Blue Pucks during remaining Kings’ home games at STAPLES Center. The limited edition Blue Pucks will be sold for $15 at the Kings Care Booth and on-line at auction.nhl.com throughout this month. Additionally, mystery-signed pucks (signed by several Kings’ players) will also be sold for $25 on Saturday, April 3 as part of the Kings-Ducks game that afternoon. All proceeds from the sale of the Blue Pucks will benefit the Kings Care Foundation and Heal the Bay.
