Purcell should be called up in Wilsie's spot on a permanent basis.

I still don't think Harrold will make it in the NHL. He is SOFT!!! He gets bumped off the puck far more easily than Lubo and he isn't as gifted offensively. He will be a liability in the defensive zone. I hope he is used as emergency backup only. I wish we had brought up someone more physical like Piskula. In the pre-season games this year, he was by far our best defensemen not currently playing in the NHL.

As for Purcell... I am skeptical about him, but ANYTHING is an improvement over Willsie! I hope Teddy can be a good fit.

Guessing you live back east somewhere and get to see Harrold play quite a bit.

I'll have to take your word for it on the soft part...

I paid close attention to Harrold during his 12 game stint last year and had nothing but good things about his play in my notes..

Anyone remember the one MAJOR gaff he had where he basically whiffed a pass right in our slot and ended up handing the puck to someone like Ryan Smyth..(dont remember who) but it was about as bad a rookie mistake as you can get... Harrold looked like he was dying inside... Having made a similar mistake in a rec league playoff finals game...i felt for him...

Anyway, my take on Harrold is that he skates really well, has a good eye for breakout passes and positions himself well...

Apparently he is "soft" and "isnt gifted offensively" even though he is leading the AHL in points for defensemen. apparently he is also "a liability in the defensive zone"

Man, and here i thought he was our top defensive prospect in Manchester...

Im guessing this guy knows a lot more about his game than i do and sees him play on a regular basis... I mean, theres no way he's posting all
that about the guy based on impressions from a preseason game...

right?
