Kings Announce Plans For Hockey Weekend Across America | | KINGS ANNOUNCE PLANS FOR HOCKEY WEEKEND ACROSS AMERICA
THE THREE-DAY EVENT BEGINS ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 15 AND SERVES AS A SALUTE TO THE GAME
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Kings, in association with USA Hockey, have scheduled several events in support of Hockey Weekend Across America, a three-day national salute to the game. The celebration kicks-off on Friday, February 15 and runs through Sunday, February 17.
Kings HWAA Events Planned For Friday, February 15:
The Kings are scheduled to take their “Cool School” clinic to Webster Elementary School in Malibu on Friday. Over 400 kids are scheduled to participate in a street hockey clinic during their P.E. class, with instruction provided by the Kings Chariot Staff.
The Kings have donated 200 tickets to the Southern California Amateur Hockey Association for their game on Friday night against Calgary at STAPLES Center (7:30 p.m.).
Prior to Friday’s game against the Flames, the El Segundo Roller Hockey League will participate in a Coaches Chalk Talk, where a member of the Kings coaching staff will meet with the kids and discuss strategy for the game that night.
The San Diego Junior Gulls Bantam hockey team will sell Royal Reign – the official game magazine of the Kings – during Friday’s game with a portion of the proceeds going to the Junior Gulls hockey club.
The Bakersfield Dragons Mite hockey team is scheduled to skate during the first intermission of Friday’s game. The team is also scheduled to serve as the Kings Tunnel Team that night, cheering on the Kings as they make their way to the bench for the game that night.
A Practice With The Kings is scheduled for Sunday morning at Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo. On that date, the Ontario Eagles Pee Wee “A” hockey team is scheduled to practice with the Kings coaching staff from 11-12 Noon. The youth team will then watch the Kings practice from the Kings bench. Once the Kings practice is over, the kids will have a chance to get autographs and pictures with their favorite Kings players.

The Kings return to action when they host Calgary at STAPLES Center on Friday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m. The game will air on FSN West, KTLK AM 1150 and on the Kings Radio Network.
Come walk the red carpet with your favorite Kings Players and your favorite Universal Studios characters at Tip-A-King 2008 Presented by D.I.S.C. Sports & Spine Center in Marina del Rey.
Scheduled for Sunday, February 24, from 5 – 10 p.m. at famous Universal Studios Hollywood, all players, coaches and broadcasters will be on hand to receive a $1 “tip” for an autograph and/or a $2 “tip” for a photograph from their fans. All proceeds benefit the Kings Care Foundation, the club’s award winning non-profit organization that provides educational and recreational opportunities for children throughout Greater Los Angeles.
