Ok,

Let's fast forward to April 5th. The Kings have had a rancid season, but they still haven't clinched last place. They are currently 1 point behind Tampa Bay, Chicago, and Toronto and are playing the Ducks.

Meanwhile, the Ducks have not done that well since Selanne has come back, but they have managed to hang on to the possibility of making the playoffs. They are currently 3 points behind Phoenix (who they play on April 6th). Phoenix currently holds the 8th and final playoff spot.

If the Kings lose, they wrap up last place and have the best chance to pick Stamkos with their first overall pick. If the Kings win, they eliminate the Ducks from playoff contention, but they also leapfrog over Tampa Bay and Toronto and will finish no worse than 28th.

beating them would be the greatest revenge for them winning the cup, nothing more imbarassing then winning the cup and not making the playoffs the next year.

yea im gonna have to agree on beating the ducks. It is a lottery so we will still have a chance at Stamkos, and if we don't get him theres a long list of other availabilities. That victory will be the most meaningful victory to me since i have become a kings fan.

I would also say beating the Ducks and them not making the playoffs after they were given and tarnished the SC, is a no brainer.

You know, i thought about this scenario myself. What a great way to end the season by eliminating the Ducks from the last playoff spot. That would make this terrible season almost worth the pain.

F*** the draft pick (were still picking in the top 5) and eliminate the Ducks!

I mean c'mon...we would ELIMINATE Duckies from playoff contention, AND we could STILL win the lottery OR pick Schenn. Which would be awesome.
