Just wondering how much do you think the KINGS will offer KOPITAR?

Seeing all the long term contracts being dished out how much do you think it'll take or is fair to lock up Kopitar? What do you think he is worth?

I would offer him 70 million for 10 years.

I'm not from LA but would love to see him stay and play in LA with the whole young core of players - Bernier, JJ, Brownie, Frolov, O'sullivan, ...

I expect DL will try to offer him a 5-6 year deal, and then extend him when his longterm value is more established.

Look at Getzlaf's contract and round up a bit, and I think you'll see what Anze's next contract will look like. I'm thinking 5 years/$6M per.

I wouldn't. If I was a GM and offered 7M*10yrs to Kopitar I would be a very bad GM. I would offer him a 4M*7yrs. The rest is negotiations!

i'd actually round down before i decided to round up.

I think he is worth 7 million just because of his attitude, style of play, role model nature, modesty and overall nice guy personality who wants to compete and win all the time. Him and Brown lead by example and shall be the ones that'll bring LA the Stanley Cup in a few years. If you lock him up for 10 years LA is awarded with an outstanding person not just skilled player!

Read my post. If you are the GM, you need to think team-first. You can't offer 7*10, because the agent will not counter with 6*10.

There's no way Kopitar would ASK for 7*10 in my opinion (at the moment!), so why offering him that?

I'd offer Kopi $6M/year for anywhere between 7 to 11 years.

I dont like contracts over 10 years at a time though.
