Come on DB, get a clue. The Stars have no prospects. All their good young players are on their roster now. They still have good vets, regardless if their hurt right now or not. They are in a win now mode and will be until it's definate that they are out of the race. I'd say keep dreaming as far as the Stars re-building.
Dallas currently has played 48 games. 28 other teams have played 47 or less. With 10 teams with in 6 points of them, they can definitely fall in the rankings.

it's too bad the last two stars-kings games aren't earlier (they're 3/22 and 3/29)
it'd be pretty funny to have it be in your organization's best interest to run another team's best players so that their season tanks and the draft pick improves, but it'd be too late for that to actually work
assuming only 3-4 points will separate the last couple playoff spots and the race for top chances in the lottery, i guess we'd rather have picks 1 and 18 than 3 and 15, so it kinda sounds like cloutier-time in late march.

A few key injuries or a slump from Turco and things aren't out the question. They are barely in a playoff spot right now. They are 5 points ahead of St louis with more 4 games played. Every team in the standings below them minus Calgary have games in hand. Dallas is a 3-5 game slump from being passed up by a few teams. In their last 10 games 3-6-1. Currently that is the worst record of all of the teams in contention for a playoff spot.
