About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. He's got until after the deadline. If he's still here...UNLEASH HELL!
Kings President and GM Dean Lombardi told the Los Angeles Times he had not asked Blake to waive his no-trade clause.
"I just don't think it's necessary to go through the process unless there is a legitimate offer," Lombardi said. "If we have an offer. . . . I'm not at that point."
What does everyone think that they could get for a Blake rental? I doubt he'd command any prospects, and I don't think anyone is going to give up a 1st rounder, so I think the best the Kings could get would be a 2nd rounder, and maybe some lesser picks on top of that.
Am I wrong here? Do you think LA could get something worth the hassle?
Jeez Louise! If Lombardi thought enough of Blake to give him control of his situation, leave it alone. If Lombardi wanted full control of the situation he'd have kept control.
And until I hear that a legitimate offer has been made, by someone that would KNOW, this is all just speculation and hatred lingering from years ago. The fact is, he's done the job as well as anyone on this team this year.
I still say that all this crying over has-beens is keeping everyone from seeing the real problem. And that is keeping the young stars from wanting to leave for a chance at the cup. Why don't you give DL some breathing room?
