It is hard to just "let it go" when Blake repeatedly kicks King fans in the nads, dude probably enjoys it. I will "let it go" when he is finally off this team and dont have to hear his BS circus like whining to the media.
give the guy a break already. Its his job.... he's 38 and he has a cup, he's spent the better part of 18 years traveling in the NHL. At this point he doesn't want to leave his home and his family. I can understand that. There are more important things in life than hockey.
Besides... since Christmas, before he got hurt... he's played rather well.
If the deadline comes and goes without him being traded, then we know he refused to waive his clause, because there are plenty of teams that would love to add him for the push. That being said, I will start booing the day after the deadline.
You won't know s***. How will you know he was even asked to waive it? How will you know if Lombardi even took calls on him? You can't, and until I hear it straight from Lombardi's mouth that Blake refused to waive his clause, then your entire post will be bulls***.

I agree. It's pure speculation that we'll get a first and some hot prospect or whatever. If some GM offers a lowball deal and DL turns it down, who fault is it? Lombardi is going to try and the best deal for the team, and if it's not there, he won't do it just to appease a bunch of internet GM's.
The amount of whining, jumping to conclusions, and trusting a myth on this board has reached epic proportions. It is really mind boggling how many of you think you know more about hockey, more about what goes on behind the scenes, and more about Rob Blake than anyone who is actually involved.
nasti, that's a genius response. it can be used to support either side! haha.
anyways, chalk me in with the anti-blake-hating (double-negative). it keeps being brought up that the best thing he can do for a team is to ship himself off. i agree that it would be a good thing for us as fans to see him bring back some high quality talent in return, and then hopefully come back and resign for a cheap, retirement contract.
HOWEVER, we can't expect Rob Blake as a professional, veteran, future-hall-of-fame athlete, to take a diehard Kings fan's perspective. You guys keep on asking him to do what's best for the Kings, but the second he leaves the team, he's not a King anymore. Even if in his heart, he truly loved the Kings organization and he planned to come back on a retirement contract, it's STILL a lot to EXPECT him to ask to be traded.
i think there are respectable things to be admired for in his current (alleged) stance. It means a lot that he wants to stick with this team because he has faith in the future and still wants to contribute.
on another note, i'm sure this whole concept of trading players, only to resign them after the year, has got to be looked down upon by the league. does it happen often? i know there's always a lot of hope from the fans that a player will come back and resign when they are traded away with an expiring contract, but how often does it really happen?
and if your counterargument to my post is that we don't want him to come back in the summer, then we can't expect the best interest of the Kings to play any role in his decision-making process.
to clarify, i agree that it would be ideal if he got traded for a lot of awesome players and picks, and then came back over the summer. but we can't expect him to make that decision, and we definitely shouldn't be BOOING him for not.

Rob Blake is NOT a future hall of famer. Are you kidding me? And if the Kings retire his # that would be an absolute travesty. At least 2 other defensemen in this era deserve it more than him---Lubo and Norstrom.
"Boo" Blake because he has a NTC...that is completely BRILLIANT!
...sometimes the level of ignorance on this board is mind numbing.
What??!! Are you really reading what I wrote here? This title since you aren't reading it is called "Booing because he refuses to waive his NTC" Not just because he has one. Your lack of the ability to read what a topic is about is what's mind numbing. F*** I hope you are voting in the election this year!!
