Sure, as long as the choices are Willsie, Willsie & Willsie....
I SAID send Giuliano back to Manchester. Gauthier is about the same size, is four years younger and has that oh so important (so we're told) prior chemistry with Moulson and Purcell.
This seems like an apples and oranges kind of thing to me. Gauthier is more a potential top 6 forward and Giuliano is a PK defense first kind of guy. Considering the defensive side of the puck is the greater weakness, I want Giuliano to stick and be re-signed when his contract is up.
He gives 100%, has made a serious difference in a good way on the PK and is becoming slowly more consistent in the face-off circle. Gauthier could be the guy who takes over Nagy's spot since the latter's contract is up, probably won't be re-signed and is absolutely trade bait.
I say keep the three of them down in the ahl till next season. let them get there playing time and possible playoff playing time and then bring em all up next year to battle for roty. wouldnt that give us an extra year on the contracts of all of them?
good idea although im not sure a full line of rookies without that much nhl experience would do well, actually it could be disastrous, but it could work
yes absolutely disastrous, three kids with no nhl experience... god, i can just imagine all the turnovers, bad passes, confusion, etc... but it could be a good trade off for the offensive ability they would bring
The Kings would WIN, but of course MISS the playoffs by a game and then we'd get the 13th pick in the draft which won't be named Stamkos or Daughty or Schenn, it means we KEEP Rob Blake, KEEP Brad Stuart, KEEP Armstrong, KEEP Nagy and KEEP Modry.
All for the sake of reuniting a Manchester line to win 20 of our last 31 games?

I hope your dog farts in closed quarters.
You over estimate the rookies, you cant just pair them up with eachother and expect results similiar to when they play in the ahl
Ruining kids forever????? Cmon!!! It's not like there's never been an all rookie line before and they're not exactly kids and I'm hardly suggesting that they shoulder the load on this team. Moulson and Purcell have both handled themselves fine in their time up from Manchester.
And Palffy33... the whole point of playing the three of them as a unit would be to AVOID bad passes and confusion. Purcell can pass the mother****ing puck. The vast majority of his points in the AHL this season are assists.... so let's see if maybe Moulson and Gauthier can find a nose for NHL nets.
I say again.... why not?
The Kings are in last place and the future of the franchise is NOT invested in 24 year olds. Assuming the Kings build the offense of the future around Kopitar, Brown, O'Sullivan and Frolov then guys like Moulson and Gauthier are going to have to learn to play an all around game at the NHL level. With the Kings in LAST PLACE in the NHL, now is the time to see if they can do it.
