that being said.... smart move on his part. I wouldn't mind seeing him in a Kings sweater.

Doughty's case is legit. In Canada if you idolized Gretzky growing up, chances are you were an Oils/Kings fan. You'd be surprised how many Canadian Kings fans there are.

I'm down for Drew over Steven. We need D real bad. While Stamkos might be the best player it's not like we are talking a huge loss in talent by draft Drew. I wasn't as big of a fan when the 03 draft was around but I'm sure most would take Phaneuf 1st overall or 2nd in the case of the goalie being number one.

Its not like Doughty is a post or pre Gretzky kings fan, he came to be a fan because of Gretzky and stuck with it. He has a freaking Kings phone in his room for petes sake.

Heck I've never been to LA and I'm a kings fan, not even because of Gretzky either

Same here. Luc turned me into a Kings fan back in 89 when I was living in NJ. And I may have never been to LA but I've passed it on the 5 and I've been to Corona if that counts for anything.

I don't care what happens on draft day as long as we get one of the top 5 players in the draft. But I do lean more towards Doughty and Stamkos. I definitely like their attitudes and the fact that both of them stated they will play for the Kings (especially doughty's preference) I think that goes a long way. Getting on your favorite team does wonders for morale and the future.

If I was drafted by the Ducks and have been a Kings fan my whole life, I would be happy I am in the NHL and everything but I wouldn't be as proud, motivated, and loyal to the team as I could be. This would probably fade over time but at least until my first contract signing I would be thinking about other possibilities as well and wouldn't be inclined to stay with the organization and likely to be active in free agency.

Doughty is more likely to happen and we need a defensive core more than more offense. Pack in some veterans through free agency, get JLB, Ersberg, and Bernier in camp and we are good to go. GO KINGS!
