Don Fulton, perhaps one of the greatest journalist pioneers to ever grace the presence of Kings fans asked Cammy the hard hitting questions today about his arbitration, selfishness, and future with the organization.
Fullton inquires: Q: There's a perception from some people that the arbitration process and ruling has negatively impacted your game.
Cammalleri: I don't think the actual hearing had any negative impact. It's obviously been a tough year for me personally for different reasons. I'm not going to sit here and say the arbitration process is the reason why.
He seems to imply that feelings have been hurt just not particularly at the hearing but he wants to remain a King though all while being said in diplomatic fashion. What are your thoughts? Does he stay or does he go?

I think if DL gets one heck of a deal offer at the draft, he's gone....if not, then he is with the Kings till trade deadline 2009.
what if at the trade deadline next year the Kings are sitting in 1st in the pacific division and Cammy is having another 80+ point season. Then do you say "Forget the playoffs, lets keep piling picks?"

If he's not willing to resign to a reasonable extenstion before the deadline then absolutly, why risk letting him walk for nothing?
I highly doubt Cammy will ever be that much of an impact player on the Kings.

I agree. I think his destiny with the Kings will fall heavily on his ability to play hardball with DL. If he accepts a reasonable extension by Lombardi he just might stay, but if he expects a $5 million salary he will get dealt out by the trade deadline at the latest. Even though, all along if DL runs into the right offer Cammy could be gone any moment because the offense has proven they can play well without him. I believe Cammy will make it to next season, just because he is damaged goods right now, we need another good season out of him so he can regain his value and then if he doesn't sign trade him out.
Lombardi will say something to the effect of, "I didn't want to do it. Cammalleri is a heck of a player. He's a winner and he gets it. But I had to address our needs on defense. If you look at teams that have won the Stanley Cup they all have one thing in common...great defenses. Now we've filled some holes on the back end. Weber and Doughty are the '85 born and '91 born players we needed in our system."
