So earlier today I made a post about my chance encounter with Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf. Overcome with the excitement of meeting two star hockey players, I decided to share with the LGK community. However, people immediately began poking holes in my story. I thought you guys were just being jealous. I didn't see any reason to doubt my story, but as more and more people did, I had to re-examine the events of this morning. Turns out, I might have been the victim of fraud.
Here's what exactly happened:
I was sitting at my table about to order, when two guys sat down in front of me. Some of the other customers at the restaurant began to whisper and make gossip. I overheard one of them say "that's Corey". Being so close to Orange County and only knowing of one famous Corey, I assumed the two guys were Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf. I thought to myself how great it would be to meet two Stanley Cup champions and decided to introduce myself. I walked over and asked if they were Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf. The two guys looked at each other for a moment and then said they were. I told them how I was a Kings fan, but didn't hold any grudges against the two rival players. I asked if I could join them for brunch and they said sure under the condition that I pay for their meals. I agreed and began having a fine meal with two guys who at the time I thought were Perry and Getzlaf. We had a long conversation about life and hockey, me doing most of the talking when it came to hockey. The bill finally came and I paid. I suggested that we split the tip and they begrudgingly agreed. I was about to put down a $20 when I saw the two guys each pull out one crumpled 5 dollar bill from their pockets, not wanting to show them up I decided to tip the same. We shook hands and went our separate ways.
Looking back I do see the holes in what happened. Why would two millionaires only have five dollars on them? Why were two pro athletes smoking so much? Why did they talk about doing drugs in the past? I realize now that it doesn’t add up. I probably was had! I feel so betrayed and used. I'm thinking of reporting this to the police, but I need help finding out who these two *******s are. Fortunately, I took a cell phone photo of the two guys.
Does anyone know who these guys are?
