Though the Kings may be in position to pick Doughty. I gotta believe with the looks of who is already under contract, in the system and property of the Kings.
Lubo for 5 more seasons, Johnson, Hickey and Harold I gotta believe that Lombardi's gotta feel he's got enough "Offensive" defensemen and will be looking for toughness.
Lombardi may trade down if possible to get something additional.
I believe whoever it is after Stamkos on the Kings draft board. They are putting defense/toughness/size and NHL readiness ahead of potential offensive upside of defensemen.
You ALWAYS draft the best player available, then make trades to fill holes and eliminate duplication of style among players.
It's wide open. It's very real to think one of the other centers could be taken.
What "centers" do you see being taken at #3? There is only one other center that can be and probably will be taken in the top 5. Surely, you don't see Beach going in the top 5 after the way he finished the season. Maybe you are thinking about Filatov? He is not a center, though could easily go top 5.

Agreed.... to a point. If players are pretty close though, I feel that the draft for need, or players fit with the team can make a difference. Again, if players are pretty close.
