About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I'd rather have Huet although I admit to having been excited about Garon when he was acquired.
Condescending piece of ****, I'm not in a great mood - but at least back up your posts with some ****ing content instead of just non-stop jabs and insults, which is all I ever see you do.
then realizes that instead of giving $12 Million to an egocentric goaltender, he could have possibly gotten his hands on Steve Stamkos this summer.
I can see why they did it. No goalies in the pipeline(extension was pre Montoya) and they had been searching for a goalie for quite some time. The goalie the staff was really high on was this kid Josh Tordjman, an undrafted free agent!
I think it was worth the gamble on Bryzgalov just to potentially solve that problem and move forward to try and fix other areas. Maybe they'll finally get Blake Wheeler into the fold!
I love that now stories are coming out about gretz disapproving of how Bryz treats his teammates when times are tough...
might have been a good move on deans part.
I think Bryzgalov's public comments raised sufficient red flags. Remember the Giguere mess? The "it's just a game" interview? I can only imagine what the inside rumors were like...
Burke's not an idiot. There are lots of teams in need of goaltending, but he cut bait without a return. That says more than words can say.
And I wouldn't compliment Lombardi too much. At the breakfast, he suggested he's had second thoughts about that whole Bryzgalov thing. And I don't know that we wouldn't have extended him if we'd gotten him and he played well for us, though hopefully the Cloutier situation and the locker room situation of recent years would have given him pause.
