About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. We finished bottom five in the league in shots allowed per game, PK, and goals against. Drafting the #1 rated defenseman in the draft wouldn't exactly be a bad thing

I wanted them to finish 30th and then get the #2 pick. It was more of a social experiment to see if CBGB or his lemmings would bemoan the fact that the Kings did not try harder to win the last few games.
Is it really all that bad? Kopitar, Frolov, Brown, O'Sullivan, Boyle, Purcell, and Cammalleri up front. Johnson, Hickey and Harrold on the back end. You see the difference between the depth? There's a big difference. Is it really a bad thing to have your pick of Doughty, Bogosian, or Schenn? No.
How many are happy today that the Kings won that meaningless game against San Jose?
Are you happy the Kings didn't tank and we miss out on drafting the franchise player?
I don't know about you, but I cannot, CANNOT get excited about forking over $$$$ for season tickets to watch Bogosian or Doughty.
I'm happy that the Kings will draft the BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE at #2 and, at the same time, will be drafting to help fill what the team NEEDS...defense.
When I fork over $ to watch the team, I'm going to watch the TEAM play, not just one player. And being able to see Kopitar, Brown, Frolov, O'Sullivan, and Johnson is reason enough. Throw in another young player (whether it be Bogosian or Doughty) and I'll still fork over the money.
The only reason I wish the Kings had lost that game to San Jose was that you wouldn't be posting this whiny-*ss thread.
Get some help if you can't get over it.
This whole thing reminds me of a Peanuts comic strip where Lucy tells Charlie Brown that " If there was a worlds biggest loser contest you would come in second!" Thats the kings...we can't even get sucking right...sigh. Bogosian or bust I guess...
"Defense wins championships" ...just shut it, A TEAM WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS. Stamkos would've made this team better. A complete player that skates effortlessly, shows grit, leadership, and can play in all situations. Look at it this way, the kid is BETTER than Kopitar.
It's disappointing for sure, especially when you consider we won that meaningless game against San Jose. Picking Doughty or Bogosian will strengthen the back end for sure, but Stamkos is clearly above the rest.
