Did you watch the game tonight? The Kings had 3 shots on goal the whole first period. 1 goal on Clouts was off Blake's skate and the last one was an open netter. He made HUGE saves tonight behind a pathetic defense. I still want him gone but we really need to work on turnovers, back checking and out of position defense. I can't wait til Jack matures and hope the Kings make some moves to get some stronger more experienced D soon.

Well I think it was a poor choice to give an extension to a goalie who had hip injury and hadn't played the prior season. Were people really expecting him to get another 30+ winning season like he did in Vancouver?

The shoddy defense mitigates some of the blame when goals are scored... but the end result is that Cloutier is just a bad goalie.

Yes, the Kings can buyout Cloutier and take the $1.0385M cap hit, and add it to the McCauley buyout.

The question is will they? I think a lot depends on the goals for DL and co. for the 08/09 season and weigh those against the projected 09/10 roster, and if that 1.7M tied up in buyouts is worth it. I think so, but who knows.

Yes, the experiment was a failure, but I would not buy him out. The don't need 1/3 of his cap hit on the books for 2 yrs.

They have Macauley's for the next 3.25 yrs.
