The Michal Handzus this team needs wasn't there every night, obviously.
That win against the Stars, Handzus showed he still has a knack for scoring timely goals and quite a few times this past season we witnessed a Michal Handzus that can flat out dominate opposing team's Centers when he's on his game.
Honestly, it clearly seemed like a confidence issue with Handzus this year. I know it sounds ridiculous that a 9 year NHL vet has confidence issues but the guy still has game. I felt like he was skating fine for most of the season. He looked amazing on the PK some nights and other nights his head was up his ass, but that's going to happen on one of the worst PKs in all of the NHL.
If Handzus can pot 15 goals next year while shutting down the likes of Thornton, Getzlaf and Richards and help the PK get to the middle of the pack, I'll consider the 4 million money well spent.

NO FU**ING WAY 4-mil poorly spent last season. And if the Kings are willing to pay a 3rd line player 4-mil, then it's O'Sullivans lucky day because he should get 6-mil per. Kopitar fugetaboutit OV money.
History tells us that aging players over 30 who suffer major knee injuries never really regain the speed they once had.
And those who average just over 40 points a season ain't worth 4 mil to start, let alone those who suffer major injuries.
Lombardi FU**ED UP by signing this guy to the contract he did, don't lower your expectations demand results expected of a guy who makes 4-mil in todays NHL.

Wow, guys over 30 not having the speed they once had? Especially with knee surgery?

Because guys over 30 who have had knee surgery never amount to doing much anyway, right?
Comparing Selanne to Hanjob? One scored 76 goals in a season the other never smelt 76 points, even in the minors.
Didn't Selanne make a prorated 2.8 mil I believe and chipped in 23 points in 21 or 22 games, Handjob 4-Mil for whopping 21 points in 82 games.
Even if 100% healthy Handjob couldn't carry Sellanne's jock strap.
Face facts Lombardi vastly overpaid for an average player, end of story.
I was saying that players can come back from knee surgery. Sorry if I didn't highlight the appropriate quotes and make the appropriate answers to spell that out.

No team pays a 3rd line forward 4-mil.
