Really? Matt Ellis off waivers? Modry for a 3rd rounder?
This is the best our GM could do?

View Poll Results: What grade would you give DL for his draft day deals?

We have NUMEROUS pieaces which could be valuable additions for teams. And yet, our GM has failed to make a single major improvement. All the other "sellers" have been active. The main "buyers" have been active.
Deano- You've got an hour and a half before I label this trade deadline as a complete failure, waste of time, and major lost opportunity to improve this team.
The last thing we need are trades for the sake of trades where we get .48 cents tot he dollar on our talent. If nothing happens today Ims ure we will be active players on draft day....
I would think that Lombardi should now turn his attention to either signing Stuart to an extension or moving him in a deal.
I am sure that Detroit is still looking for a defenseman. That may be the only deal to be made with Nagy on the shelf and Blake exercising his NTC to limit his movement to only two or three teams.
Oh yes, all of these oh so valuable pieces that been so maligned in their term here with posters here practically willing to pack their bags and drive them to the airport. Those so valuable pieces?

On the other hand, I'm listening to Burke on TSN right now. He just said that there were no moves for Anaheim today. He tries to build his team prior to the draft deadline and not wait for last minute pickings.
Not a bad strategy in my book. Lombardi has started building this team, I say let him finish. And it doesn't necessarily have to happen on draft day.
