The Kings are playing the Ducks the last day of the season.
Lets just say if the Kings win they recieve two points that will put them into 2nd to last place instead of dead last. And by the Ducks losing they end up finishing the season 1 pt behind the sharks for the division lead, and puts them in to 5th place, so they lose out on home ice advantage. By the Kings winning they hurt there chances at getting Stamkos, but also hurt the Ducks playoff advantage. Do you hope the Kings win or lose this game?
I know the Ducks could still win it all from the 5th seed, but I would like to see the Kings win, just to see the Ducks chances hurt. Being dead last does not guarantee Stamkos, and the Kings still have shot at him being 2nd to last.
Well, there is no guarantee of getting Stamkos anyway. I know what you mean though. I don't want to tank games just to get him. But on the other hand we've never sucked enough to get that #1 pick, especially in a great draft. I do want to see a culture of winning created, regardless of the circumstances. The Kings, as inconsistent as they are, will have a great chance at getting Stamkos.
**** Stamkos, **** Kane, **** Tavares, **** Turris and **** CBGB.
I want the Los Angeles Kings to win as many games as humanly possible. If the fate of the franchise hinges on the acquisition of a single 17 year old kid then we all need a new hobby.

Amen. While good drafts are nice, creating a culture of hard work, discipline and... eventually through those things, quality play on the ice is more important. No coach or player would want to come to a team that tries to lose in order for a high draft pick.

its gonna be great when lombardi can pick stamkos and doesn't. all the cry babies will come out and i will laugh at them. lombardi, please keep picking who you feel is the best player. not the fans/media/myself.

ps. i hope he picks a defense first.
Though I feel we are in serious need of defense, I think picking someone like Stamkos would be great. The fact is, you don't have to keep the players you draft. He's good insurance.

especially when we know DL would rather draft a D man to fill our hole. everyone needs come down the Stamkos bit. DL would rather have a defensemen. get over it already.
I've had a few arguments along this line before, and I still cannot, under any circumstances, condone not playing the hardest you can. If any coach, captain, or any sort of leader on the team even considers that, they need to get off the team immediately. YOu cannot create an environment like that, A) Because it creates a losing environment, B) It's basically laying down and saying they're done, and C) (previously mentioned) these are draft choices, not proven players, and the day the team needs to give up like wimps so they can draft a player that may or may not make it is the day the team should dissolve.

Seeing as Lombardi has intimated publicly that he would choose Doughty over Stamkos, It's a no brainer. Play to win. F*** the Ducks. Take the guy you want anyway.
But I think it's a moot point, anyway. If the Kings continue to play the way they have been in the last 2 or 3 weeks, they'll end up a few spots away from 30th place when the season's over.
