About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Kopitar will be better.
Frolov won't have a groin strain all season.
Brown will be better.
O'Sullivan will be better.
Cammalleri won't miss 25 games or won'
Boyle will be in his rookie season. He'll be good, but lets face it, he'll still be a rookie.
Moulson or Purcell will be in their rookie seasons as well.
Nagy will be gone.
Handzus will me making 4 million dollars to center Ivanans and Giuliano.
Stuart and Modry are already gone and 50/50 as to if they'll resign (do we even WANT them back) - Blake MAY be resigned and if he is, he'll still be 39.
Leaving Jack Johnson, Lubo, Preissing and basically two rookies manning the D.
With LaBarbera and Clloutier manning the pipes.
But many of you like to be optimistic. You're all positive thinkers.
Okay.
Who do the Kings sign to play defense. Yes, there are the Commodores and Campbell's of the world, but based on the number of years other teams are handing out, do you really think Dean bucks his own style of NOT handing out deals more than 4 years to sign a capable defenseman who actually WANTS to play in L.A.?
And lets say Dean trades Cammy for a goaltender. Which one? Which goalie is going to step in a help us right away? Emery? Gerber? Kolzig?
It seems to me were looking at ANOTHER season of suckage even before THIS season ends. We ALL had high hopes for this past season - I'm not so sure about next.

The Following User Says Thank You to CBGB For This Useful Post:
Year two. Apparently the first year didn't count as a rebuilding year. That was an evaluation year because Lombardi didn't have all his people in place. But the good news is Lombardi got his people in place faster than he expected so that's ahead of schedule. No really, I'm serious...
I expect to look differently than Visnovsky/JMFJ/Preissing/Harrold/Blake/Dallman/Modry/Stuart.
Lets just say that.
Maybe something like...
Visnovsky/JMFJ/Preissing/Harrold/Blake/Mystery Man
That'll be...HOPEFULLY...
A healthy Blake + A better Visnovsky (he didn't forget how to play in 1 year, did he?) + A looser & more greenlit Johnson + A rookie Harrold + A steady Preissing + hopefully some added defensive grit that can be acquired via trade.
I also don't expect to have all of the picks. Have a drink, Matt. Things'll be okay. Don't let the ****ty weather get to you.
