What I really hate is when the team is down and the crowd is quiet... yet they go crazy for T-Shirts during the TV timeouts. Or they get really loud when the Loudest fan of the game contest comes on. That's ridiculous when they've been quiet for most of the game.
I agree. I am the opposite as I am sure are most diehard hockey fans: I am quiet during the T-Shirts thingies and loudest fan contest and loud when it matters after a Kings goal
I did like when the organist played a song from Earth, Wind, and Fire
Like I said before Earth WInd and Fire does not belong at a hockey game not the right tempo for the game. (plus they kinda sucked in my opinion)
Also, can we please kill those idiots who ask how much time is left
I have watched too much Double A hockey in San Diego where they did this stuff although the fan who would ask how much time is left was never there and there was no organ. Staples Centers gimmicks don't faze me
Personally I wouldn't mind seeing taiko drums at the intermission. The NHL should consider this if it ever considers a preseason or regular season game in Japan

Call me boring, but when I go to a hockey game, I want to see hockey, and on the jumbotron during breaks and intermissions, I want to see hockey highlights, interviews with players, updates on prospects and manchester results, and maybe some hockey bloopers and hockey trivia. If there's a mites team that can come out and skate 5v5 for 5 minutes during an intermission, awesome, those guys are hilarious. No DJ, no Cartman, no "let's make some noise," no Day-O, no Kiss Cam, no t-shirts, no contests that don't directly involve either an instant seat upgrade or some free tickets to more hockey, no clips of pop music to be cut off by the faceoff besides the organ (unless it's specifically related to some player's favorite song or a hockey situation like an opponent going to the penalty box to the tune of girls just wanna have fun or the i love LA after a goal). I'll take special guest zamboni drivers if they're recently returned servicemen & servicewomen.
overall, if you need auxilliary entertainment to enjoy the world's best live sport, then you should probably watch it at home on TV. or go to chuck e cheese or something.
oh, and for f's sake, turn the house lights down when it's not intermission so that people can watch the game and are discouraged from getting up and moving around.
the PA annoucer should also give updates whenever whoever's playing against the ducks scores. just for laughs.
totally support this. the games and gimmicks are crap. give me some good ole organ music.
I long for the olds days when the simply had some chump playing an organ.
Simple. Classic.
Im with Charles-im there for the Hockey not the mindless feltch specifically catering to dolts.
Absolutely. What's wrong with talking to your neighbors over reasonable-volume organ music while people at home are watching disgusting Carls Jr. commercials? I'm really sick of having to shout over the stupid games and really awful LOUD music.
