Well despite having center ice and watching our beloved team play their last few games I am actually feeling good!! I had my last round of chemo yesterday!!! Taxol is over!! I still have herceptin (targeted gene therapy, still infusion in the port but I won't be all groggy and weird and my blood counts should go up soon) until the rest of the year but I am glad one stage of the game is over. I will be having an ekg on Friday and I will also see the radiologist that day. Rumor is I should have 6-8 weeks of radiation for 5 days a week. So I will be pretty busy until the end of May. I can definitely say that I will be sick of the hospital by then, no doubt!
Just thought I would send you an update since I haven't in a while. I say no news is good news.
wishing you the best. Attitude is eveything. try to keep your chin up and focus on the positives. Do fun things. This all sounds trite, but I was a nurse for many years---and people with great attitudes and a zest for life always do better.

Good to hear the good news Mel. How about posting a picture of you rocking the cool Kings beanie I sent you.
Good idea!! I will take that picture of me. I will snap one off at work in the next couple of days. I am off today, I always take tues off cuz of chemo. Some peeps gain weight during this I've lost weight, but fortunately I was working out like a fiend so I am actually right around what my goal weight was, a little vain I know, but I want to get back to the gym & get that muscle tone back.
