That's awesome! I work with children like this every single day and it is truly a great feeling when I read or see something like this.
I used to work with a little girl several years back and we used to play hockey in the backyard with the big inflatable equipment. We would take turns being the goalie and shooter. Anytime she allowed a goal, she would say, "That was Duck Goalie-ing, I need to try harder."
That's great. When kids have autism sometimes you go with whatever seems to make a connection with them. I thought it was really nice that the Kings organization made them feel at home too...
I'm hoping she did get a puck and a stick and that her family doesn't make this a one time event. This girl needs season tickets if it brings her this much joy. And while a suite is great, maybe she'd like to sit at the glass one time?
Both of my boys are autistic, this was a great story.
They're still young, but I have my fingers crossed the Kings will be one of their obsessions one day. either that or drumming, I need a reliable drummer...
