What kind of club has a 19 year old playing on a torn ligament?
If I were the Kings I'd be pissed Seattle played him, especially after the concussion. He's young, he's a great prospect, the Kings staff should have enough information/leverage to have him pulled from the lineup.
Is this an example of signing a player too early? Would Seattle really risk an injured player if they thought he was returning next year?
The last part of the article says that he should be back by training camp. That's reassuring.
It says he should be, yeah it's reassuring in a way, but hopefully it doesn't hamper him much. I mean seriously wtf is he doing playing while fully conscious of the severity of his injury???? seattle's fault? his fault?
I'm a season ticket holder for Seattle. I'm not sure when his injury happened in Playoffs, but he sat out most of the Tri-Cities series, and it wasn't due to the concussion. I know the Kings probably knew about his injury, as there have been King scouts at our games watching him and Holloway during the Playoffs. I would say that's why he didn't play in the last round except two of 5 games, the first game and the last.
I saw Hickey the other night at the Spokane/Tri-Cities game and he looked like he was doing well. This means he's staying in Seattle for treatment, which only has the best with all the medical services from UW and Harbor View.
The talent of this kid is awesome, so I am sure he will be fine. He's not ready for the AHL or NHL yet, anyways, as he has some beefing up to do. He still get's beat around a little still on the ice.
I have read constant logs and in forums about how the Kings made a mistake about drating him, and that's the ridiculous to say about him. This kid is a great draft pick for the Kings. He brings heart, leadership, puck handling skills, agility, and smoothness on the ice. his passing is stick to stick every time, and he pulls out the big hits when needed. Onlly problem I seeing at the moment with the kid, is that he needs to hit the gym!!!
Yes, Seattle shouldn't of let him play the last game of the series, but that's where the Kings Organization needs to step in too. The blame shouldn't be all on Seattle. The kid will be alright with the treatment he's getting.

I didn't realize the Kings controlled the Thunderbirds.
