Definitely a kicking motion there, however you can see the puck changing directions after hitting Boucher's leg pad. Shouldn't the goal have counted since it last went off of Boucher?
No. If it had hit Boucher's stick after the kick it still would not count. It would only count coming off of contact with a stick, excluding the goalies, after the kick. Rule 70 in the NHL Rulebook
Kopitar needs to realize he can't take everything on himself and has to keep his temper in check-- new contract or not. He did the same thing in New Jersey last year-- only he broke his stick, not the glass.
Is Shanahan signed yet? We really need a proven veteran that has won. We have so many young players that have no one to look to for leadership- veteran, I have won it all, leadership.

Was it just me or was JJ not out there at the end of the 2nd period?
i also didn't see him out there at 2nd half of the period.

Overly passionate to say the least. He better get used to it teams have scouted us and realize that if they shut him down they shut down 75% of the threat.

Would definitely be a HUGE help with the younger forwards and help Kopi out a lot in growing as a player.
Wish we could also get a D-man like Shanny (meaning knowing how to win and the leadership qualities and mentoring ability) and get rid of Noobthier.

I thought it looked like he kicked it but it hit his own stick before going in...which is legal...but it was never brought up.

Real time I thought he used his stick but the replay showed it went directly from his skate through Boucher and in. I didn't see it hit his stick after he kicked. If it did, it would have counted.
