About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Frolov was dominant? Really............
Dominant- Datsyuk, Zetterburg, Sakic, Ovechkin, Crosby, etc.
Frolov.... not so much.
People on this board need to stop kissing his ass so much just because he

Don't get me wrong he has some sick skills but with that skill set, he should be dominating night in and night out, not just getting the "phantom" goals he gets.
Dominant is not missing an empty net from 5 feet out or turning the puck over at the red line, resulting in the GWG in overtime.
Dominant players instill fear into opposing teams fans everytime they are on the ice, is that really Frolov? The guy who will dump the puck in on a one on one, or spin towards the boards and look for a trailer.
Frolov has some skills, that unquestionable, but dominant, you are far far off .
Given the time and the space that he had, Johnson should have scored on this shot. His slap shot is overrated.
Oh God.
Do you know just how much easier it is for a goalie to save a shot he can clearly see?
+It wasn't the best angle to shoot.
+Slapshot IMO isn't the shot to use in situations like that.
+Johnson's slapshot is just fine...he's still getting used to NHL. He was also concentrating on defense most of the season.
And now define "overrated". Do you mean, overrated on this board with all that "Slapshot killing" stuff? Geez man, that was more for fun than as a serious hype don't you think?

The truth comes out. Johnson is over rated! I guess it's time to ship his ass out with the rest of the has beens and never was' this team has.

According to Jim Fox Frolov is not going to be 100% for the entire season.
He ****ed up tonight w/ that terribly predictable move at the blueline in OT, but dezamn he had some fancy work in the offensive zone down low tonight.
I think the distinction b/w Zetterberg, Crosby, Dat-Sucky-Ass-Biatch-That****edupthe breakawaycontest is that Frolov hasn't got the wheels that those guys have. If Frolov had speed, forget about it. He WOULD dominate.
Instead, w/ Frolov, it's comparable to watching Tito Triniidad fight Roy Jones, Jr. You know Tito, like Frolov, has the power to get it done (or at least he did at some point) but it just takes way too long to excecute his movements. Meanwhile, the other guy is going 150 mph.
In the end, however, Frolov's lack of dominance is only helping the Kings draft position, so I'm fine with it. The summer will give his groin a chance to heal and he'll have a chance to dominate next season-when it counts.
i lost track of the amount of times Frolov got poke checked and knocked to the ice...he was far from dominant...he had a good 1st period then tapered off considerably
Has he not lived up to the expectations coming out of Michigan, yes.
Have we yet to really see his end to end rush, yea, but it is the NHL not NCAA.
Have we yet to see a sick blast from the point, maybe.
But he has been far from a disappointment.
Everyone knows that it takes young D men 2 to 4 years to mature and get comfortable, he has made strides this season and has learned alot from Blake and others.
Next year we will see a diff Jack Johnson, the one with bruising hits, that other players hate to play against.
