For those of you that have stayed at the MGM.... Is the Signature at MGM (or whatever they call it ) worth the extra $?

It's worth it if you are OK being away from the casino and little off the strip but the trade-off is that you have the pool to yourself and the rooms are pretty nice. The hallway to the MGM drops you off right near the entrance to the arena and food court.

I've always found it doesn't matter how cool the room is, since you never are in it the whole weekend except to sleep.

True. For me its not a matter of how cool the room is but how dirty it isn't.

My main concern is that the bed is comfortable for the 3 hours of sleep I normally get.

Still pretty pricey.

Although we have always stayed at the MGM Grand in past years, this year in the interest of fiscal necessity we investigated other possibilities. Although it means having to walk a little further, we found a place with large suites, either one or two bedrooms, that are unbelievably inexpensive next to/behind the Hooters Casino. On the site I found it through the recent reviews were good. Currently, they have an online special that includes FF weekend with a 30% discount if you are going out for at least three nights.
