I was actually happy to see the team lose. Dont get me wrong-I was also happy to see us score and what not but lets be honest-it would be so LA Kings to be at the bottom of the standing for 3/4 of the year only to do a late run with the playoffs well out of reach to screw us out of a good pick.
So for the first time I was actually relieved and satisfied with this loss.

I would be perfectly content losing every game from now until the end of the season. I WANT a top pick. I want us to get superior drafting position. We deserve it.

This is the mark of a true Kings fan when with 20 or so games left in the season the debate isnt how we can make the playoffs but how we can get locked in for a top 5 pick.
Ive always said the biggest days of the season for Kings fan is the drop of the puck for the first regular season game and the annual trade deadline fire sale.
There are thiose that want to call the Stamkosians 'not true fans'.
That is Bulll Fing ****. I have probably lost 5 years of life expectancy, due to being a Kings fan.
I have converted at least 12 people who were non hockey fans to the sport. I have spent over $22,000 on tickets (including 8 years of season seats) and Kings gear over the years. I was at the Miraclle on Manchester and almost fired for getting to my 11 PM shift at 12 midnight at a post production facility. I was at the Frenzy and have gone to a few road games. I fondly remeber the pre-Gretzky days of waching only 15 King games on KTLA and channel 9 and those 15 televised games were special.
The Stamkosian wants Steven Stamkos as a King, plain and simple. We want the Kings to be LONGTERM CONTENDERS, not a non-playoff team and in the black hole. Yes, Stamkos is a guarantee. And yes, a player picked #10 may end up being as good as Stamkos, but I am sick of maybes. Winning right now and ending up with a 5-10 pick would make me physically ill. I would rather take an Ivanans punch to the face, than have that happen. i would even pay $1,000 insurance policy right now, if it could guarantee us #1 overall.
Face it, no top tier free agent wants to sign here...we want to beat Anaheim and be Cup contenders.
We need a legit #2 center. Stamkos is that gift to all King fans. And no, Lombardi will not take Doughty over Stamkos. Stamkos is superior and Dean knows that.
Does a Stamkosian expect the Kings players to lie down and lose, or the team to throw games? Of course not. We want the Kings to battle, the young players to play and get better and learn. We just want to end up last and receive the gift we deserve: Steven Stamkos.

__________________ Don't fire Crawford YET. If we fire him, we may get a coach that could elevate this team to 20th overall in the league...and we'd be screwed in the draft again. Let's take full advantage of Crawford's ability to get us Stamkos!!

I agree....I wake up every morning after a game day and cross my fingers in hopes they lost. there is no ****ing point to go on a meaningless run now. I wouldn't be too thrilled with the 11th overall pick getting some guy who may crack the lineup in 2014.
