It would be best if all games would be close. I think that players get most from close games, much more than from huge wins or huge losses. We are buidling team for many many playoff games.

I've never heard you say that, I just used my response to you to address that particular point. I also think that people like you and Tonga are more pragmatic in your views, and I find us having a lot more common ground on this subject, as opposed to the myopic "ZOMG, Stamkos will win us the Cup. TANK GUYS!," crowd.
Tonga is a radical extremist, I've heard crazy stories about his Stamkos obsession.
The Nordiques drafted Lindros first overall but traded him for Forsberg and others who helped them win 2 cups.
The point being, you take the player with the most value around the league, not the player with most value to your team. I know it's hard to envision but having an asset that is worth 10 is better than having an asset that's worth 9. Kings can draft stamkos and turn around and trade Cammy and a first for a great young defender.
Catch my drift?
Thanks for NOT answering my question and diverting the attention back to Stamkos Jerk Face. You owe me double Karma for that!
Anyways, so do you know who the other three first overalls were to win the cup with the team that drafted them?
Oh and i did catch your drift. Thats what the Avs did with Nolan to land Ozolinsh (puck moving d-man) and Sundin to land Clarke who was then used to land Claude Lemieux and Rucinsky who was used as part of the Patrick Roy trade.
I think the Kings philosophy has always been draft the best player available. DT always said that and DL said when he got here as well.
