If the Kings win, thats cool with me.
If they lose, the Kings are on their way to a #1 overall.
win-win if you ask

And to Mr. Westlemania... dont get your tights in a bunch. They are sports entertainers. Sure they have very physical interaction with other wrestlers, and they do hurt themselvs. But its scripted. If you think its not, then you have issues.
I would be perfectly content losing every game from now until the end of the season. I WANT a top pick. I want us to get superior drafting position. We deserve it.
Yeah same with me I'd rather us get a nice 1st round draft pick maybe grab a good ol' Kyle Turris like player and just roll with the flow after that than finish 9th-8th-7th position.
Actually, as it turned out, this is true. The Kings actually won the first draft lottery in 1995. Moved up to pick #3 and got Aki Berg. lol
jom
Might be off-topic, but Aki Berg was a good choice. I thought he had great potential. Two things happened to derail Berg.
1) Kings were SO bad, (much worse than they are now, imo) that Berg was brought up to the NHL about a year or two before he should have been.
2) Berg foolishly held out through the ENTIRE 98-99 season, largely killing off the good progress that he made in 97-98.
Berg had good size and was an EXCELLENT skater, just had perfect textbook skating form and balance. His problem was between the ears. It was easy for him to lose confidence in his game, and he was error-prone when he did lose that confidence.
Since 1969 only 6 of the 1st overall picks have won the Stanley Cup with the team that drafted them.
Thats 6 more cups then the Kings have won and roughly 1 cup for every 6.333 years.
A wise man once said-it may be a longshot but its the only shot we got. OK it was Scotty from Star Trek but with this teams history it still applies.

1st overall pick = 1 guy
picks 2-9 = 9 guys
Missing out on the first overall pick wouldn't be the catastrophe that many of you portray it as.

Okay, let me ask you something and you can choose only one thing... what do you think is more important for the LONGTERM future of the franchise (that means for next 2- 10 years, not that long):
1. Development of the players we already have, especially teaching them to win.
or
2. Drafting Steven Stamkos.
I also have another question in my Stamkosian questionnaire, which goes something like this:
How much higher do you believe Kings SC chances would be, if we pick #1 in 2008 draft compared to a ... #3 pick let's say. This is a tough one, so I'll give some help:
If Kings pick #1 in 2008 Draft, Kings have _X_ % chance of winning a cup in next 20 years.
If Kings pick #3 in 2008 Draft, Kings have _Y_ % chance of winning a cup in next 20 years.
Just give us both numbers, X and Y.
This question is not meant just for you, it's for all tankers. I'm asking because I think the results might be interesting, not because I'd like to discredit anybody.
