I agree, but after this season of suck, I don't think a change in the offseason would be the end of the world either.
I just think that with the emergence of the young players, Crawford has fulfilled his role necessary to the proper building of the team. I'd like to give him a chance to run the team for a season or two after it's been built.

I'm still reluctant to give Crawford much credit for the emergence of the young players. I see it more of an inevitability of players of their caliber. I'd even go so far as to say an Andy Murray-type coach might have been able to get even more out of them, but who knows. I just think what we're going to see with Crawford if he sticks around is more of what we saw of his time in Vancouver and less of what we saw in Colorado.
Of course he did, and it probably hasn't, but do you honestly think if or when it does enter his mind he's going to announce it publicly?
Who really cares if he announces it publicly? By the time the team is in that "phase" those who have been following it will already know when it's time. No announcement needed.
The "development" of the players is not something you accredit to a coach at least in this case, we have already heard the horror stories of how the young players feel about some of the coaching staff, no need to reiterate here.
The "Development" crew has a full plate already. In a DL organization it seems they will stay the course and be patient. It might not happen as soon as some fans would like but those who exercise patience now will see dividends paid later.

While you can make the case for Kopitar and Johnson, I do think there's something to be said about O'Sullivan and Brown. That's not just a learning curve and inevitability of emergence, in my opinion. Their games have completely turned around.
