About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. I haven't seen a topic on this yet, but has anyone heard anything about the Kings have interest in this guy. Or do you think he's worth it
Wings are going to lead the pack, with Vancouver having an outside shot.
I just don't see how we can get him. All things being equal in Money (And I don't see how every team wouldn't meet his bonus needs) its going to come down to where he's going to be most comfortable, and Detroit has all those Swedes on their squad, and is winning Now.

You're assuming (as is the article) that he's simply going to go where there are the most Swedes... I do think the Kings have a lot to offer (other than the obvious appeal in CBGB's post). This is a young team on the rise where he could be a key part of leading this franchise into respectability and winning the Cup. He would also get to play top 6 minutes here, which seems to be important to him. Can't see that happening with Detroit. Deano is also a pretty good salesman. Maybe, I'm just too much of an optimist!
Where is he going to play top 6 minutes? The Kings top 6 is full and add Stamkos or maybe Beach to the mix, there ya go.Detroit will definately get him, infact its been reported on a couple sites that they have signed him.

See Teddy Purcell, Joe Piskula, Peter Harrold, Gabe Gauthier, Matt Moulson, Jeff Bagnall, etc.
All of these guys were free agents and they all signed here. Remember there was controversy over DL's signing of Piskula because he offered him ridiculous bonuses. DL has a way of making these deals happen. Not to mention the Kings have swede Oscar Moller waiting in the wings and Swedish Elite Alums, Kopitar, Ersberg, Brady Murray, and Scott Thornton.
Do it Dean-o! The kid can play top six minutes for twenty games when Nagy, Cammy (maybe), WIllsie, and Thornton are all gone in 21 days.

Yeah, there's NO way you could take Armstrong off that 2nd line...
Helen St. James of the Detroit Free Press reports this afternoon that the destination for Swedish Elite League star Fabian Brunnstrom, 22, will likely be Detroit.
[ Edited 1/28 for clarity. Edited portions indicated in bold. ]
Brunnstrom, a free agent and classic 'late-bloomer' who went undrafted, had narrowed his list down to five NHL clubs: Detroit, Toronto, Vancouver, Anaheim and one other unnamed team.
The Red Wings have offered Brunnstrom an entry-level contract and Red Wings GM Ken Holland was in Sweden earlier this month to scout and meet with the Farjestad star. Brunnstrom, who turns 23 in two weeks and has been compared to the Ottawa Senators' Daniel Alfredsson, has eight goals and 32 points in 39 games so far this season.
Vancouver Canucks European Thomas Gradin scout had the following to say to the Vancouver Province on Friday regarding Brunnstrom:
"He has gone from a nobody to a player who really has made a name for himself. He has a lot of talent, for sure... He's a big player who can skate and he's a very fast skater for his size. He's a very good prospect."
Brunnstrom will not be able to sign a contract with the Red Wings until the conclusion of the Swedish Elite League schedule, which will occur sometime in late March or April.
While all NHL clubs can only offer Brunnstrom the rookie entry-level maximum salary of $850,000, teams are allowed to add performance bonuses into the deal that could potentially push the annual salary to over $3.5-million. Bonuses that high, however, are unlikely.
St. James mentions at the end of the blog entry that a source has said that the team is confident it will be Brunnstrom's final choice. She also adds that the feel from Brunnstrom's camp is that Detroit is his likely destination for next season.

No, you're not TOO much of an optimist. You're just an optimist, and so am I.

D'oh! Yes, you are Homer.
Do you really really really think that it hurts the team if it has 3 scoring lines? If he's better than Purcell, we could still reunite Eddy's line (Or 2/3s of it, with Boyle instead Gauthier) from Manchester, and put Brunnstrom in top 6.
And if you mention Cammalleri and Nagy...IMO, replacing Cammy with Brunnstrom and Nagy with Purcell, and trading them for something we need more, is one helluva piece of business.
Stamkos? Lottery, DL's quotes...I'm NOT so sure he'll draft Stamkos. Beach? BEACH?! You HAVE to be kidding me...this guy is reportedly a headache, he got knocked out recently, AND he isn't producing lately AFAIK. Which means that even IF DL drafts him, there's no chance in Hell he plays for the Kings as soon as the next year.
