That was my thinking, but after reading it again, we'd have to add some more in each. Maybe it would be Nagy and Visnovsky for Carter, prospect, 1st (I'd even take the 2009) and Cammy and say Stuart for Suter and the Florida #1.
The Philly deal would have probably have some cap issues.
Generally, this is how I think that Lombardi may proceed over the next week. Yes give it a makeover, and yes get prospects and picks, but actually land us some NHL caliber talent NOW for next season, and really start shaping this team.
A 1/2 of Kopitar and Carter would be a wet dream for me.
Say goodbye to Stamkos if we keep trading our D-men away. Surely our needs will on the blue line if Stuart, Blake and Lubo are gone. I would thing that after Mo left, if we get rid of 1 or 2 more d-men then at the draft DL will look to add more help on the blueline. But I wouldn't mind having Carter for a pick. OUR NEXT COACH!!!

I dont know if we would have to add too much extra, we could always take away some deadweight ufa's on those teams for cap space (not sure if they have any bad ufa's but its a thought...)
and I really hope this is what DL is doing over the next week.
Carter is a stud and IMO worth more than Cammy or Lubo,he is on pace for 30 goals playing the 3rd line and would be a great 2nd line option behind Kopi. This kid is very highly touted and hasn't reached his potential due to the fact the Flyers have Briere and Richards ahead of him.Flyers would be making a huge mistake to trade Carter,I believe he has 40 goal 80 pt. potential.

I really can't imagine Phily tweaking their roster this much but the East looks really, really competitive right now. Montreal, Phily, NJ, OTT ... any one of these teams could win the East to go to the SC. They could very well be going after Brad Richards if he really is made available and if they think they have a chance. They may have to match OTT as well if they pick Hossa back up. If they are doing this then they won't be taking on any salary as they will be capped out.
From a Kings perspective I really, really like Birdy's idea of the moves to Nashville and Philly. Like Birdman I really think the Kings brass is thinking outside the box with select players being untouchable (Kopitar, Johnson, Brown, Boyle - now, Bernier, O'Sullivan). I think everyone is else, up and down the roster and depth chart, is available.
Gagne is gone for the rest of the year and there are several other players on IR - Derian Hatcher and Jofrey Lupal. Their combined yearly salaries are approximately 11M prorated over the rest of the season or however many games before the these players come back to the lineup.
Are you thinking of Richards? Carter better turn it up if he's going to get 30.
I think he might be talking potential. Carters potential is pretty good plus he is a big guy (6'3" 200lbs.) and is only 23. He would fit well here in Los Angeles.
