About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Nothing against J.S., but we very likely would have lost that game tonight with Aubin in net. Cloutier made some pretty ****ing decent saves...
And I'm pretty sure that most

And I'm pretty sure that most of the people bitching about Cloutier and not giving the guy at least the slightest little nod are just upset because they were proven wrong and made to look foolish with their certain predictions that this game was lost as soon as Cloutier was named the starter.
Piss off already. The guy had a good game in what can be nothing less than an extremely difficult return to the NHL, we got 2 extraüberordinarily signifiportant points towards our chase for the playoffs*, and we're not getting Stamkos, Doughty, Stamos, Daughtry, or Ovechkin anyway. **** the haters; go Cloutier!
It's a bit hard to tell around here... what logo is on the front of his jersey?
Don't boo him guys, it might hurt his feeling and that's not very nice.
Being paid millions of dollars to play professional sports is all about results, not how hard you are trying. Cloutier's results have been horrible. You play like ****, you get booed, that's the way it works. One good game doesn't make up the loads of crappy performances he gave. If he starts playing well, the boos will stop. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't his numbers in Manchester suck?
And I don't buy the whole "Blame Cloutier for why Vancouver never won anything" either. There are 19 other players on the team and blaming one is a cop out.
Totally agree! Besides, most Vancouver fans blame their ****ty coach they had...
i hope, but i dont think hell get, a standing ovation in the first game he starts at staples. hes come back from multiple surgeries, done time in the minors (the nhl SHOULD make it possible for players to do rehab stints in the minors) and still comes back despite everything the media and fans of his own team say about him.
if he proves himself, good. i feel like an ass for ever talking **** on the guy. he has some resilience. were not winning this season and probably not next season, let the guy prove himself that hes healthy and back to the form he had when he won 30 games a season regularly

I agree with you, I like his character, he's not quitting. But still... he's being payed a lot of money for what he does, you know, he is not supposed to quit.

I couldn't agree with you more Mr. Bandit with how everyone else has been talking down about him. Everyone wants to keep bringing up left and right about how Cloutiers season was last year, when it shouldn't matter anymore. It was last season. That you all need to just move on and get over it. That this is now and not then. Sure he had a bad season prior before this one. But when you have Dan Cloutier out for two seasons, just about, it is pretty hard to come back and make sure you get your game on, when you know they are to be pretty rusty indeed.
But now seeing him after tonights game against the BlueJackets, WOW. I thought his oldschool self is back. His focus, composure, positioning, agility, aggression, lateral movements was all there. He seemed to also have the 5-hole narrowed down better for everytime an opposing player attempted to go 5-hole on him. Then when came down to his rebounds he was all over it by jumping right on it. I hope I not over doing it here. But that is what I honestly think of his performance after todays game.
hmm...funny that Clouts had such an exceptional game ON THE ROAD. Could it be that it's because he's away from Staples Center and the moron fans that boo him? He prolly had less stress being in Columbus, than at home. Secondly, he played frickin awesome, and deserves the credit for it. 60+ minutes, at or around 30 saves, and a win in the shootout. The whole team has been playing well as of late, and fans should be overjoyed, and encouraged by that. Let him have a chance, he hasn't played for us in over a year, and you guys are so willing to bring up all these kids and hope for a shining moment of glory for them. The season is over for us anyways, we may as well feast on exciting hockey!
A single cup can be chalked up to anything whether it is the team, a coach or a fluke. The real coaches are the ones that have multiple cups and various teams. Crawford in my opinion is not a coach that can do that.
As for the Clouts naysayers, a goalie can't do everything on his own. Tonight he showed quick positioning, good post to post play, no big rebounds, and decent puck handling. The goals he let in were most defensive faults and he did a damn good job in the SO. He has 2 consecutive 30+ winning seasons and that's not something a ****ty goalie can do. I think tonight we saw a bit of the pre-injury Dan Cloutier and I give him props for that.
