In the event of a Blake trade, who/what would you REALISTICALLY like Mr. Lombardi to recieve in return? As much as some of you want Marc Staal, that's basically a pipe dream. So.......
Myself, I would of course like to see some 1st round picks. Other than that, I would love to see Al Montoya (NYR), Leland Irving (CGY) or Tuuka Rask (BOS) come this way, especially the first two are being blocked to the NHL by superstar goalies locked up longer term. I know we have Bernier. But since this organization has had past troubles in bringing along goalies. What's the harm in have 2 or more uber-goalie prospects. And we can always use one as trade bait for another need down the road.
There are some intriguing D-men prospects I'd rather find a superstar goalie for this franchise.
Forwards would be last on the list right now, but if Dean can get some great forward prospects than all the power to him.
wait... so Staal is a "pipe dream," but you want Tuukka RasK?
you'd have a much harder time getting Rask out of Boston than you would Staal out of New York.
if Lombardi traded Blake for a goaltender who they opted to draft Bernier in lieu of, he should be shot... that and the fact that Irving is now considered to have been greatly overrated.
there's a legit chance at Montoya, but the Rangers would have to send something other than anyone named Malik along with him.
for Blake, Dean needs to be looking to the direction of defensive prospects and early drafts picks.

Blake for Clarkson+Greene+NJ 1st? teams SHOULD be throwing in more than this offer at the deadline.

plus I doubt Blake gets traded soon. It would most likely be right at the deadline or real close. He still has 2.5+++ left on his salary for the year and I assume someone would want to take on as least of that as possible since not many teams have that much room.
