are you guys serious ? This thread made it 3 pages and everyones from the look of things trying to say they want Ersberg over Bernier. Nothing against Erik he's been playing great and all but he's 26. Bernier Doesn't turn 20 for almost 6 more months. So sure Ersberg is playing great for us now but 7 years from now any of you that think Ersberg is going to be the goalie of the future over bernier are smoking rocks. That said I hope he plays at least a couple more years in a kings uniform.

Seven years from now, some other goalie is gonna be the Kings' 'goalie of the future'.
As a former goalie, watching this kid puts a real kool-aid smile on my face. He is so damn quick and lucky.. something we haven't had in the last decade since Potvin! Lock this kid up long term PLEASE GOD DEANO!!!!!! He looks like he could even trump Bernier!

Just out of curiosity, how does being lucky make a goalie the real deal?
Not to rain on everyone's parade, but some of those "spectacular" saves were due to poor positioning. He's lucky, and those were beauties of saves he made, but there are two different end results when you play that type of style. You get your Haseks and your Cechmaneks.
His rebound control continues to amaze me, but he showed weak lateral movement and committed too much sometimes. He needs to improve those before the benefits of being a new goalie wear off.
He could be, but don't forget that the Kings can match the offer and retain him, and I don't think the league is lacking in similar goaltenders to warrant such an action.
I like the kid. If anything he will definately give everyone else in the system a good run for their money and raise the bar of what we expect for a golatender (which hasn't been much). I think he can do quite well for us.
He is putting on quite a show right now and if a team thinks they can get a Lundquist at a bargain price....
I wonder what Lombardi would do if he was offered a 3 yr/2 mill a year contract. I could definitely see Philly or Washington pulling that.
