Real deal or late season flash in the pan?
On that same note-how long is he signed for?
He looks pretty sollid. He has to get used to NHL guys shooting from all over the place. Dumont rang an early shot off the post that would've probably went in if it was in inch or two lower. Ersberg didn't look like he knew it was coming. He sure is calm in net though.

I think he'll definitely be our stopgap guy while we wait for bernier. He still has to pay his dues to get the number 1 job, which I can't imagine is too much more than hes paid already. But hes at least our backup until labs gets injured again
I like him. He's not the "answer" to Kings goaltending, but he should be servicable enough to be the #2 to Labs next season and then perhaps the #1 in the following season when hopefully Bernier starts his NHL career.
I don't know how many of you saw the game on CI last night but they interviewed Chris Mason on the bench during the game. The announcers asked him what he thought of Ersberg in net and he sad he was really impressed. He also said it was probably easier for him because there is no pressure on him because of where the Kings are at in the standings. We need to see what Ersberg can do when the season and the games matter in order to gauge just how good he is.
I wouldn't mind seeing him in some kind of combo for another year while we get one more year of seasoning for Bernier. It'll be a great opportunity next year for Ersberg to see what he is made of. No one will be picking or expecting that Kings will be a playoff contender so he can just do his thing with relatively low pressure. If he is able to steal a few games here and there, he'll give the Kings what they thought they were getting when they signed Dan Cloutier....but with a better mask.
