Yeah, but that wasn't a dirty move. Everybody on the ice knew it right away - that it was a clean check with a bad outcome. When dirty things happened, I've seen Ivanans going after 5'8'' 165 player. With no fight, of course, but not because Ivanans wouldn't want it.
Even when it's not a dirty hit, you have to stick up for your star players.
I like your points GoonSq. Ideally, it would be great for Ratis to work hard to improve his game and acquire the 5 tough as nails players.
Isn't this pretty much what the Ducks have?
Also, after a while you just have to accept that some people around here will always see Andy Murry as the high school coach who let his team get beat up and did nothing to prevent it. Sound arguments to the contrary have been offered ad nauseum but I just try to let it go as much as I can.
Things are so much better now, like when La Barbs got hurt by Ryan Smith and he is not even touched. Then the next time we play them which was only a week later Smyth has a fine game without any incident whatsoever.
Yes this year we rely on Karma as our enforcer? I'll take goonsquad's recommendations over Karma.
I don't see having Ivanans available as being a big problem, but I do agree that a single enforcer does not really do much to counteract the overall lack of team toughness. It would be nice if a few other bottom six players had both skill and the ability to throw.
Having an enforcer is simply a waste of a roster spot, and a waste of the chance to roll 4 real lines. Someone please try and make a case that having an enforcer in our lineup has been a deterrent in any way to teams taking liberties with our top players.
Roll 4 real lines? Kings piss that opportunity away simply by having Armstrong...... Again, Armstrong is the weak link of this team. Aside from the goal against and the horrible defense.... The lack of Ice Girls and the amount of time you waste getting food at Staples... And the horifying TV coverage and no HD... And AEG and Jim Fox.... Then there's Anschultz and Liweike.. Almost forgot Cloutier..just saying it's all Army's fault IMO.
An enforcer is still as important as ever, but I do agree that it would be nice to see some more Iginla types in the NHL... Great ability, but wiling to drop 'em and beat some ass too.
