About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. If they give us their #1 pick I would do it in a second. Two picks in the top five this year would be amazing. Two D-men
Pretty sure I predicted this way back in October. MitchRock has the exact quote but it was Blake for the Ducks #1 and Kent Huskins/Joe Dipenta. If that #1 is the oils it may swing like Blake and the Dallas #1 for Huskins/Dipenta and the Oils #1.
makes sense for Blake. he gets to stay in So Cal and play for a contender in what could be his final season. If he does go to ANYONE this season his hopes to retire his LA jersey are all but dead, IMO.
I don't think that would be enough reason for his jersey not to be retired. But I hope it never is.

Very, very doubtful that should he traded his sweater won't be retired by the Kings. I think it is going up to the rafters soon after his retirement from the NHL.
I just wish the Kings would stop retiring jerseys with exactly zero cups won.

If he retires as as King, he will get his jersey retired here despite who he goes to this season.
In return for Blake, word is the Kings are seeking a player off a club's roster, a top prospect and a high draft pick.
If it is Anaheim that Blake gets dealt to, I would rather the Kings take the Oilers pick alone rather than the Ducks 1st (if they still have it), a player and a prospect.

Anaheim does not have their own 1st rounder. That went to Edmonton as part of the Pronger trade when Anaheim won the Cup. They have Edmonton's from the Penner offer sheet.
Ehhh whatever....is it gets us more first-round picks, I'd do it. They've already won the Cup, so the sting has kind of passed at this point. All the Kings should be worried about it is winning their own and winning more than Anaheim. If that means helping Anaheim possibly win back-to-back but getting a second top-5 pick out of it and taking a prospect away from the Ducks' shallow prospect pool (which would hurt them pretty bad for the future), then I'm all for it.
While we're at it, we can send Stuart to Detroit and see what we can get in return. They'd be hard-pressed to find a better depth defenseman than that.
