It appears as though Dean's first draft is looking to be better and better. Hickey played well at the WJC, Moller was top goal scorer in the WHL before the WJC, Simmonds made Team Canada for the WJC, played decently and just had a hat trick and 4 point game last weekend...Alex Martinez is one of the top scoring defensemen in the NCAA this year.
and now, some DUCK LOVE:
As pointed out by Matthew Kredell on Inside Kings, Duck GM Burke had this to say about King #2 draft pick Oscar Mioller:
The Vancouver Province had a quote from Ducks general manager Brian Burke on Kings prospect Oscar Moller.
``His hockey sense is terrific and I think the sky's the limit,'' Burke said. ``His skating has to improve a bit and he has to get bigger, but what great hockey sense and what a high battle level.
``If he plays for L.A., yeah, I won't be a fan of his.''
AND a Duck fan posted this about King 2007 draftee BRYAN CAMERON. He apparantly has season seats and sees Bryan play on a regular basis:
Im a Ducks/Habs fan and I come in peace.
Just wanted to give an update on your 3rd round pick Bryan Cameron. I have season tickets to his junior team so I have seen almost every game this year.
So Bryan is having a fantastic third season in the OHL. He is currently 21st in scoring with 57 points (27 Goals, 30 Assists) in only 45 Games. The 27 goals Bryan has accumulated is the 13th most in the OHL. He also is tied for 13th in +/- rating with a +21.
BC is a great skater with fantastic sniping ability. Though hes small hes shifty and isnt afraid to throw his weight around. He is a versatile player that can play both wings and centre. Though the best position for Cameron is probably centre, as he is a great faceoff man.
He reminds me a bit of a Pavol Demitra. The type of player with great speed and a very good shot. Though I dont see Bryan putting up 80+ points a year I can see him being a solid 2nd liner putting up 30 and 30.
Hold on to this guy he could be good.
__________________ Don't fire Crawford YET. If we fire him, we may get a coach that could elevate this team to 20th overall in the league...and we'd be screwed in the draft again. Let's take full advantage of Crawford's ability to get us Stamkos!!

the future is bright--some would say it can go any other way----oh well take the little bit of positive we can find right now--hoping for a great game from Labs tonight !
As much as I look forward to him making the big club he has to put on at least 20 pounds. The last I heard we was around 175?
That's 10% more than this time last year, when he weighed 162.
A poster on this board saw Wayne at last year's rookie camp at TSC, the day Wayne arrived. He thought he was a fan, as he said there was no way he was a player, because he had bird legs and a very small waist.
He came out to Cali last June to work with TR Goodman. He will put on muscle and weight, but he may never be a 200 pound player. Because of his build, he may max out below that. Given his drive and style of play, playing below 200 pounds won't hurt him. There have been plenty of NHL players who thrived in physical play and traffic under 200 lbs. If he keeps working out with TR Goodman, he'll be fine.
