About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. = Beastly defense, kk thx
I think Kings are better off taking Luke Schenn mainly because he is almost NHL ready and is the physical Dman we need and lack. It would be nice to get Colten Teubert too but I dont think it will happen. I've gone through the draft numerous times and have slotted Teubert in with the Dallas pick. The problem is that there are some clubs out there that are also interested in Teubert(Canucks,Bruins...). I'll take Schenn in a heartbeat, then take a skilled forward from Europe with the Dallas pick followed by a skilled forward from Canada or USA with our own second rounder...

After looking at several scouting videos posted by RR (thanks again), I've been leening more towards Schenn or Bogosian over Doughty too, he seems too offensive minded which we have plenty of. As for Teubert, its a stretch to land him with the Dallas pick, but what a gift it would be.
The knock on Teubert is he doesn't know what to do with the puck and he lacks hockey sense. I haven't heard anyting negative about Schenn but I am curious about his skating. I saw him, Myers and Hickey play in Seattle once and Schenn didn't stick out except for a hit and a nice pass.
Nothing lacking with Schenn's skating. He's a good stay at home d-man who keeps the game simple. He'll hit forwards,he'll clear forwards and do all the dirty work. From an offensive stand point he'll chip it off the glass of boards...They cant all be PCoffey can they...
