With the 3rd for Modry the Kings now have 9 picks in the first 4 rds. 2 in every rd and 3 in the 3rd. Ill eat my hat if Blake and Stuart are both on the team after the trade deadline and can almost guarantee that either one of those guys will land us at least 2nd rder if not higher. In that case its quite possible to have 10 picks in the first 4rds. And you can also bet a deal will be made that sends a couple of the 3rd rd picks for a 2nd or some combo thereof.
Anyhow, once again the future looks bright.

Hickey,Moller,Simmonds,Cameron Martinez and King are all having great years.
Dean said last month: that 'his staff' is "already where they were in April of last year, where I want them to be" This bodes well for this draft, which is considered very strong and deep.
We currently own picks (pre-lotto) #1, #29, and #31.
Don't be surprised if Dean trades some of these picks to move up in the draft, or to package a few for some very good players.

I'm almost pretty sure that Stuart will be resigned for next year with a minimum 2 year contract. If DL doesn't get his asking price for Blake (1st (and possibly 2nd) and prospect(s)) he won't be going anywhere either.
Am i the only one with the defeatist attitude around here saying that all these picks won't amount to dick? I mean how many times has hope reared its ugly head around the LA Kings only to be squashed by reality. This team will fair no better next year than it did this year, mark my words, the only upside to that is we'll draft Tavares too.
