Leading the Kings in points doesn't mean much.
Kopitar has a lot to learn but he is an NHL player no doubt. Sending him down would do nothing for his development. I've been saying this for a long time and I think it's evident, the Kings need a veteran top 6 forward. The way Blake "mentors" JJ should apply to the forwards too. They need experienced guidance.
Yeah I responded to a sarcastic post in this thread. My bad. Tough to tell anymore since it seems like there are a bunch of 12 year olds on LGK.
Did you actually realize the post was sarcastic and still responded? I get your point, but still some basic sarcasm filter is a must around here. Kopitar is offensively maybe the most consistent Kings performer, and with his recent form (9 points in last 4 games) he is looking to finish the season with most points since Palffy's 37+48 in 2002/03. I'm sure we all realize Kopitar is an NHL player.
"Skoula gave up the puck to Gaborik in the corner, then circled to the front of the Kings' net. He sneaked behind both Kopitar and Visnovsky, then Gaborik threaded a pass between the two Kings. Skoula, alone in front, made a quick move on Ersberg and slipped the puck past him."
I just looked it up. Kopitar leads all forwards in even strength ice time at 15:02 , that pretty much puts this thread to bed. Average his plus minus against the other players (in terms of ice time) and you'll find that he isn't bad defensively at all.
So, with that much ice time, he should be a +15.
He may not get a free pass with the coaches. But, on this board, up until now he has. This is the same board that will villify a player for making one bad play.

Haha yeah I read through quickly but there were some stupid ass posts in this thread so I kinda forgot what I was responding to. I agree Kopitar is consistent offensively but he is still young and I think playing on a line with a GOOD veteran forward could help his game a lot.

I will clarify that even more.
The kings need a vet forward who can take the puck to the net. All of our young forwards (Kopi, Brown, Cammy, O'sully) have amazing talent and ability but way to often struggle just getting the puck to the front of the net and getting shots off. We've been getting outshot horribly and its because our forwards are simply taking the puck inthe zone, getting forced to the outside and then just getting punked.
