Ahh ok.. "HNIC Radio - Dean Lombardi". Listening now. DL said he just finished a trip through the Ontario league and he can't remember ever seeing as strong of a stable of players as there is available this year - ever. (My comment - yeah... if he's THAT high on this year's draft, he's going to make some moves.)
He's saying that this year's crop of Canadian defenseman are players that do not come along often. He compared it to the draft groups of Bourque and MacInnis and the group of Pronger and Niedermayer - he's saying that this year's draft is one of those generational draft years.
He's talking a LOT about the signs he looks for in defenseman - really interesting stuff and too much for me to type out. He says you'll probably see teams do a lot of jockeying in that 1-8 bracket of players.

so in the middles rounds you draft by what you might need with in the system?!
