-No disrespect to Slovenia but Latvia has a great hockey tradition and some of the best fans in the world. The game might end up being close but that's mostly because the Slovenian team plays together year round (Jesenice). They'll have better chemistry and they'll have the best player on the ice in Kopitar but it shouldn't matter, the Latvians can really skate and they've got a dozen European Club Stars.

Recently Lativa beat Slovakia and lost to Sweden 4-3. If Kopitar and the Slovenians beat Latvia it will be a huge upset and their biggest win to date.

I don't think Latvia is a MUCH better team. They are better from Slovenia, sure, but I think the game is gonna be really, really close.

I will not watch the third period, the bed is waiting for me. I will say one thing. I've been watching hockey for a long time and I haven't seen our national team playing worse. Maybe I forgot the bad games but I honestly don't remember one.
