The game was quite nervous and not very watchable. The result is logical, however. The result would be much bigger if not Kristan in the box. He made several great saves. I think Kopi was tired due to enormous ice time. You cannot win a game relying just on one player. I havent checked the stats, but Kopi might be the leader in time on ice.
Ivanans is leading the tournament in penalty minutes (29), mostly due to questionable 5+20 min he got against Getzlaf. Too bad fighting is prohibited in IIHF. Getzlaf would think ten times before punching Ivanans in the face from behind.
Latvia has a lot of great players that aren't playing in the NHL. As a hockey playing country they're really underrated. They don't really beat Sweden or Finland anymore but teams like Germany and Switzerland, despite all their money, still get beat pretty regularly by the Latvians.
LOL, just checked the stats from last game against Latvia. Kopitar was playing... 26 minutes and 49 seconds. Damn! He played more than eleven minutes in third period only.

agreed. Too bad their goaltending is terrible and coaching is horrible. And must say that switzerland and germany are both better than latvia, though i like latvia more..
