About This Page: This is a discussion on LA Kings Talk within the LetsGoKings.com forums, at Los Angeles Kings Hockey Fan Forum. Absent a trip to the conference finals it stands at #23.
Edited for correction.
Take another look. The Dallas pick is sitting at #22 not #24. Would have liked if we had had around 18-20 pick. Oh well, Im sure DLombardi is going fandangle his way for an earlier crack at some of Elite talent.

I took another look. It seems like we're both wrong. It looks like the pick is sitting at #23 to me.
Please correct me again. I'd love to go down (or up) to 22.
Yep, it shook out to Dallas is currently sitting in the #22 slot. However, if any of the non-divisional teams advance into the Conference Finals or further, then the pick drops by 1 slot for each of those teams that goes.
So, NY Rangers, Colorado, Philadelphia, Ottawa, Calgary, Boston, or Nashville can all help us out.
Maybe, but why take a chance on a player like Beach when you can get a guy like Colten Teubert, or maybe Tyler Myers.
Beach won't drop that far and neither will Myers. 6'7 defensemen that can skate and play physical don't grow on trees. 6'3" wingers with talent and a mean streak don't either.
I think there is a chance that Teubert is still available to us with our second pick but would not be surprised if DL packages that pick with one of our 2nd round picks to move up for Schenn or Myers. I think that is a strong possibility regardless of if we win the Stamkos Sweepstakes or not.
The fun thing to watch on Draft Day will be how many forwards are selected in the first 5-10 places. If teams start taking forwards to fill organizational needs then we could 3-4 real good defensemen in the first two rounds. One draft could completely eliminate a major organizational shortcoming.
