Draft day will be interesting...
Pickard fell to No. 2 and Peter Delmas, who backed up Steve Bernier in Lewiston, fell to No. 3. Barrie's Michael Hutchinson made a late charge and sky-rocketed from No. 18 in January to No. 5 on Thursday's list.
I think the big picture here (at least with this CSS ranking and a few others) is that the top 3-4 D, has turned into a top 4-5 D, with another group of solid D not far behind.
I hope DL is able to make some magic come June and grab 2 of the top 5.
Pretty lame they only have contrived lists based on country & position and no list that includes all draft-eligible players. No way to tell where they rank Filitov relative to the top defensemen.
The guy is big and nasty. This is the type of shutdown, physical d-men we need. All those other top 10 D men are more offensive minded. Right now he is ranked 18, so maybe he will be around for our Dallas pick. We have Lubo, Hickey, Priessing, Harrold, and even JMFJ to move the puck, so all I am saying is maybe we take Bogosian at number two and wait to see if we can land this guy later in the round with the Dallas pick. Then we can use those assets we would have spent on another top 10 pick for a deal for a legit #2 center which we also need desperately. Just sayin'

I hope that he'll be there with the Dallas pick...but just in case...I think we may need to trade up to get him...
Colton Teubert and Tyler Myers played really well and solid at U18 from what I hear. I was not able to watch any of it, but I hear Teubert was very intimidating.
I guess his stock is rising, but he is still ranked 18 for north american skaters. Throw in Filatov, Grachev, and some of the other euros and maybe he will still be there for us.
